I learned last week that Ursula is supposed to be King Triton’s sister!! (Bonus features on the new Little Mermaid DVD.)
What?! That’s what the Disney people intended.
It’s like that feeling when you’re dating someone for the longest time then all of a sudden you find out something about them that you never knew.
How come she’s an octopus and not a merfolk like the others?
Maybe… it’s like in “Wicked”. Just because she was born different, people rejected her. Alphaba was green and Ursula was an octopus, er.. Octomaid? And then she goes off to try to overthrow King Triton because she is angry with the sea world and was banished from the kingdom. I’m not usually a fan of Disney sequels like Lion King 2, Jungle Book 2, The Little Mermaid 2… But they should do a prequel centered around Ursula, yeah, that would be so cool!
