I majored in Business w/ an emphasis in Accounting. I took so many accounting classes and realized in my senior year that I HATED accounting. By then it was too late, I just wanted out (of school).
After graduation, I quickly forgot practically everything I learned.
But tomorrow I have a meeting about an issue that requires me to know some of this stuff… So I’m trying to somehow cram some knowledge into this anti-accounting brain via the internet.
Listen to these terms and see if they make you feel good:
Income Statement
Balance Sheet
Reconciliation
Return on Investment
Chart of Accounts
Profit Center
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH….. horror!
This is what accounting does to me.

ewww. accounting just reminds me of my two Cs in college. i couldn’t handle it, so i had to switch majors. dude, i couldn’t even take 2 classes. good job on completing the emphasis! jiao yo tse tse! quack quack.
“Reconciliation” makes me feel good. i wish more people would do that instead of holding grudges and letting it explode one day….
although i don’t think that’s what it means in accounting…
it’s all greek to me
funny, i hated the simple accounting classes in college. only reason i got through it was because of the extremely cute french TA i had. i enjoyed business law a hella lot more.
then again, something must have happened as i got older, because i actually know what those terms mean and it doesn’t frighten me. heh. guess doing IT work in a corporate environment does teach you some things.
all i know is that the profit center is where you go to meet guys who can talk to God.
Those terms bring back bad memories of college years….sitting in those accounting classes trying to figure out where everything goes.
I majored in business too and had to take some accounting classes! I’m horrible with numbers. GOOD LUCK!
math is my weakness…and i deal with those terms at work on a daily basis….aiyah…i guess in my weakness God is trying to show his strength??
God bless ya!
i hate math x1000
yikes… brain is shutting down…
comment from anderpants had me cracking up.
i wish i had read this earlier! how did the meeting go?
@yoshikoyan - hi rosa! thanks for asking. the meeting went well… well, we ended up uncovering a huge mess, but at least that allows us to fix the issue before year-end. i didn’t have to know all those accounting things after all, the acctg experts were there and i just needed to know what i needed to know, whew!
I read a lot of helpful info in this post! 3 3 2. So, I do not really imagine this is likely to have success. 8 1 2. The dude is completely just, and there is no skepticism. 1 9 here. There’s no doubt, the dude is absolutely right.
