Please, no one send me chain mails. Often times, there's a nice message. But if i see at the end, "send this to x number of people and your wish will come true in y days"... that just ruins it. Delete.
I remember getting a chain letter back in 4th grade. Back then, you didn't have access to a copy machine, and it wasn't electronic for easy forwarding. So you had to copy the entire letter by hand and hand it to the victims in person. I will admit that I did feel "cool" when I got my first one. But after copying that long letter 5 times, I didn't know who to give them to. Nobody wanted it and backed away like it was some plague.
Some might see it as an opportunity for a wish to come true. But it's just superstitious stuff to me now.
I ended up handing it to no one. But it did help with practicing how to write in cursive, hehe. And hey, I didn't have a year of bad luck... unless you count the time when my bratty neighbor/classmate (Jimmy Lee was his name) took my favorite stuffed animal and bit it in the face. One word: slobber. That was not nice.
P.S. Below is a great Bossa Nova album. I don't understand a word, but it's still good.

Ugh, I hate chain emails too.
i hate chain letters, too. the pressure to send them after receiving them from friends was so intense back in elementary school. i just didn't have to nerve to make other people do all that work, too.
i remember writing them out by hand. cuz i didnt want the poor kid to die (or something like that).
i agree with you wholeheartedly.
WOW. you guys actually used to write out the chain letters over and over again and hand them out???? hardcore dude!!! but yes, i agree. i very much dislike chain letters.
