Hot evenings like this reminds me of summer last year. Running away from people, from thoughts, from the heat. A quick drive over to the local Starbucks to plant myself there with a book for a couple hours. Get lost in a corner, in a story, in the smell of the place. Coffee frappuccino was the comfort drink. And the A/C was free. $3, it was worth it.
Until I was chilled inside and out, then I'd gather my stuff and head back home.
Not sure why I'm writing this... was just reminded of Starbucks and all that happened last summer by this horrific heat. Oy, triple digits in the Valley. Save me.
One summer, and then another, and then another. And so we move forward.
