  • Due to this horrid heat, our beloved Chinchilla is now in Chinchilla heaven. We had given it to my Uncle a few months ago since Amy had deadly allergies to it... but we still consider it "Our Chinchy". He called this weekend to tell us that Chinchy probably died of heat exhaustion in their garage. They've buried it in their back yard. The poor thing. I wonder if it felt like a child trapped in a car on a hot summer day. I hope he just fell asleep.

It's so hot. We're breaking all sorts of heat records here in So Cal. This is the 20th straight day where temperatures have been over 100°. I left work yesterday at 6:30 pm and it was 101° outside and super humid! Ick. Well, at least we haven't been affected by the rolling blackout. Ann said that she experienced her own rolling blackout: she kept falling asleep. Hahaha! Yeah, this heat makes me so tired.

I live for the late nights. When the sun goes down and the pavement cools. When the breeze is pleasant and I can breathe again.

  • goodness! 20 days? new york crapped out when it was just two days at around 100.

i'm sorry to hear about your Chinchy.

  • If the weather is so hot, why in the world was the chinchilla in the garage in the first place?!?  Common sense to me says, hmmm ... there's no airconditioning or ventilation in the garage, maybe we should bring the rodent's cage inside.  Sorry to hear about that, but it just sounds a little like stupidity on your Uncle's part to me.

  • Sorry about your chinchilla.  I'll trade you the 101 degree weather for the 111 degree over here.  Sheesh, at first it was all that rain, now it's all this heat!  Can't we just have nice normal weather!  78-81 with a cool breeze would be just perfect.

  • aw, so sad about chinchy.

has it been 20 days already? thank God for air conditioning.

  • aw :[ my garage is like an oven too. thats why jojo doesnt sleep in there anymore. its like ridiculous
