  • I found a section of the library that I really love. The new books.

I'm currently reading one about changelings; how they come and replace a specially selected human child with their own. Pretty interesting. Narrated by the boy that was kidnapped and the changeling that's now living the kid's life. I love that feelings where I just can't wait till I can sit down again and get into the story.

I will admit, I used to read in traffic. But I don't do that anymore. That's bad.

I also used to listen to my iPod in traffic, with both earphones in my ear. Sam says that's bad.

I also used to do bicep curls with a 2 lbs dumbbell while in the car. But I had forgotten about that until I was reminded again last Sunday. I'm going to get buff so I can arm wrestle Jane, heh, jk.

I spend way too much time in traffic. It was especially bad today. In the mornings when I get on the freeway, the electronic sign on the road tells me how long it takes to get to the next freeway. Usually it says 20 or 30 minutes. Today it said, "80 minutes".  I almost fainted, but I didn't, because that would have been bad as well.

  • Some people might say, "Clutter is the sign of a genius."

This time I was watching The Fab 5 on TV. One of them said to the guy they were fixing up, "You need to get rid of clutter. Clutter is the sign of someone who doesn't have their life in order."

*light bulb moment*  I think that's me!

God, please help me clean my house.

  • Well, today is the day. The very last episode of The OC. I hope it'll be good. I think it might be corny, but I'm ready for that.

It's kind of silly how I have such a fondness for this show. I wasn't even watching it in the beginning. I only started watching because Sam watched it. And cuz it's nice to have a show that we both can enjoy together, so it became special to me.

Yes, the show got silly and lame at times, but I still wanted to know what was going on with Ryan and Seth and Marissa and Summer... and now Taylor. (PS, is there anyone else who thinks Seth looks like Garrett?) Sam laughed at me when I said, "they're like my friends". I know that sounds totally pathetic, but I hope you know what I mean... This is also the same reason why I have such a special place in my heart for Christina Aguilera, Justin Timberlake, and Britney Spears. Because I used to watch them on the Mickey Mouse Club after school. I guess I just attach easily and am a sentimental girl.

    Anyway...

We used to watch The OC every Thursday. Sam, me, and boba from Tea Station.
But then Sam started going to Thursday Fried Nights with the guys. That left me with The OC and the boba.
I'm giving up boba for lent. So today will just be me and The OC.
And then next Thursday... it will just be... me.

    Boohoohoo.

Maybe I'll start to watch Greys... or just read more.

  • Having a crunchy peanut butter and jelly sandwich with slices of bananas inside. So good.
Now I just need Jennifer to be free so we can go get our morning cup of coffee.

My boss brought his little daughter into work today. She's super cute and dressed exactly the same as her doll! Hat and all.
She's all ready to go with tons of movies and snacks.

However, she likes to blurt out things really loud or squeal when she's watching the movie on her headphones.
"Look Dad, kids on the bus!"
    "Crazy fish!"

I really love children, but I hope she will be ssshhhhhhh when I'm on the phone.
She is literally less than 5 feet away from me.
    "Are you working from home?"
"I didn't know you have children."

Anyone watch American Idol last night? I like that beat boxer, Blake Lewis. I liked how he sang that Keane song. I like that this band's lead instrument is a piano and not the typical guitar.

  • I haven't been getting good sleep lately. I wake up everyday around 4 am for some reason, but eventually fall back to sleep.

I also can no longer sleep in extra late on the weekends. I don't know what's up with that. But maybe I'll be more productive this way. The below kept me amused this morning:

Did you know that Ancient Egypt was inhabited by mummies who wrote in hydraulics? They lived in the Sarah Dessert and traveled by Camelot. Certain areas of that dessert were cultivated by irritation.

In the first book of the Bible, Guinessis, Adam and Eve were created from an apple tree. One of their children, Cain, asked, "Am I my brother's son?"

After that, Pharaoh forced the Hebrew slaves to make bread without straw, and Moses went up on Mount Cyanide to get the ten commandments. He died before he ever reached Canada.

David was a Hebrew king skilled at playing the liar. He fought with the Finkelsteins. Solomon, one of his sons, had 300 wives and 700 porcupines.

    Hahaha!

To share from my own childhood... I used to think that the Abraham in the Bible was Abe Lincoln. I mean, after all, that is such a rare name!

Happy Chinese New Year. I'm going to eat lots of hot pot! Tripe, please!

  • Sam and I have been teaching the 2nd and 3rd graders this quarter at church. I can't believe it's almost over, it goes by so fast.

We just love the kids in our class. Angela, Deborah, Edward, Inez, Joshua, Jeremy, Matthew, and Yumi. They're all so different; each special in their own ways. They surprise us and make us laugh every week.

It's so neat to see them grow and learn. They all enjoy coming to class and love that Sam is their teacher. It's almost like playtime, not Sunday School. It's not a quiz, it's a "special contest". They're especially good with the 10 plagues. We're trying to teach them teamwork, the girls seem to be better at that though. Each team somehow decided to build forts around their answer sheet during these special contests... even though there's no way they can see each other's paper. Instead, they'll just whisper loud enough that the other team can hear. Hahaha. They crack me up.

Sam also made them a CD with the books of the bible, NT and OT. There's even a little rapping part in there. I heard two boys rapping it the other day, hehe. So cool that they go home and practice and be excited about it. "You memorized all the books of the bible? Wow, good job! You get 20 stars for that!" Then they stand next to us and count in unison as we put the stars on that person's booklet. 1, 2, 3, 4... then they cheer.

Stars. I love those stars. They do make our lives easier. But they'll even do it for intrinsic reasons and not for stars. Jeremy: I still remember all the books. Can I say them to you again?

We are so proud of them. It'll be neat when they start coming to our English service and we all get to worship together. A few more years.

  • I am so disturbed after entering my home address on this site: www.familywatchdog.us.
It was developed by John Walsh from America's Most Wanted, whose own child was abuducted and murdered.

This will show you a map of sexual offenders that live in your community. You might want to check this out, especially if you're a parent.

    This world is so corrupted.

  • Do you have a favorite shower song?

    I do!

Hands down, it's "Part of Your World" from The Little Mermaid.
I've been singing it almost everyday in the shower (unless I'm in a bad mood or am sick) since 1990 when the movie came out.

mermaid fire burnAnd how fitting, since I'm in the water.

What would I give if I could live out of these waters
What would I pay to spend a day warm on the sand
    Betcha on land, they understand
Bet they don't reprimand their daughters
Bright young women, sick of swimmin', ready to stand
And ready to know what the people know
Ask them my questions and get some answers
What's a fire and why does it, what's the word, buuuurrrn
    When's it my turn?
Wouldn't I love, love to explore that shore above all
Out of sea, wish I could be, part of that wooorrrrld.

  • calligraphyI'm going to start practicing calligraphy. I'm really excited. Something just for fun. Actually, a while back, I had wanted to be a professional calligrapher. I'm just amazed at how letters/words can become art.

I ordered a calligraphy book through Amazon a few weeks ago. It shows you how to write 100 different scripts, though many of them are pretty similar. So I tried practicing last night, with a regular pen though. Uh.... I have a lot of practicing to do. I'm already favoring some scripts over others. After work today, I'll be picking up some felt tip calligraphy pens. The 40% Michael's coupon came just in time. Sam had given me a real nice ink one back in college... but I no longer know its whereabout. How sad.

It really is like drawing right now. Kind of feels like I'm back in grade school learning how to write cursive or something. I think need lined paper. I can't wait till it becomes a reflex... the degree in slant, the curves, the extra frills, the thickness, the turn of the pen...

I want to write a love letter in romantic calligraphy with a quill on parchment paper, roll it up, tie with a bow.
Maybe Amy will let me address her wedding invitations when that day comes.

  • bath tubYou know that No Doubt song that goes:

But I still love to wash in your old bathwater
Love to think that you couldnt love another
I cant help it...you're my kind of man

Everytime I hear the bathwater line, I always wonder why anyone would sing that. That's pretty gross.

But I have decided to come clean today and make a confession.

When we were young (grade school) we used to share bath water. I think we just got lazy to let the water drain and fill it up again, so I'd say to my brother sometimes, "Just leave the water, ok?" And maybe my sister didn't know any better either, but she'd wash in my old bathwater sometimes. Little did she know that I used to PEE in it! Haha...DISGUSTING, I know. Amy, you had no clue, huh?! Muahahaha... it wasn't a vendetta thing... more like a I'm-nice-and-warm-and-relaxed kinda thing.

Now that I think back, I gross me out. Well, since I'm out already, I'll also say, I used to pee in the pool, too!

Nasty girl, I know, I know. But I have changed my ways. It is 100% safe to share a pool with me. And, I don't soak in the bath tub anymore.

Even though Amy has never known the truth, till today, she did get me back once. One time, I gave her a piggy back ride, running from one room to another. She was laughing really hard. And the next thing I knew... there was a warmth spreading quickly down my back. The concentrated stuff. At least mine was diluted.

We are bonded forever, Amy and I.
