  • Things I realized I use my left index finger specifically for:

    Flossing
Holding down fork in left hand, cutting with knife in right
Popping open a CD - push down w/ curled index finger, lift w/ thumb and middle finger

    I'm now very good at:

Pointing at an object for a long time
Pretending to shoot things *bang bang*

I love all 10 of my fingers.

  • What kind of conversations do you think parents' have the night before their children get married?

  • Wow, this must be a record. I think I haven't been on xanga for a whole week. This is what happens when work blocks blog sites. This is also what happens when you are addicted to watching Korean dramas after work.

I got my stiches out today. They looked at how it's healing and said, "Very nice!" It doesn't look very nice to me, it's kind of Frankensteinish... but they're the professionals so I'm happy with their evaluation. Soon I'll start physical theraphy since I can't really bend it very much.

Oh! The other day I was sleeping on my side, facing S. He was tossing in his sleep and elbowed his arm into my messed up finger. It hurt! I like to wiggle my finger at him, then he feels guilty. It's been a few days, but he still cringes and say "sorry, sorry" when I wiggle it at him. It's very fun!

  • Hehe, I do most of my xanga-ing at work. Started back in 2003.

They finally figured it out to block all blogging sites like xanga and blogspot today. Sucks. Xanga-ing is most fun during the hours of 8 - 5.

I went for a post-operation check-up today. I hadn't taken off the dressing until today. Ugh, it looks so gross!! He left the stiches in and told me to try to bend my finger. I tried, it doesn't want to bend yet. So he took my finger and tried to bend it for me. Being the demure girl that I am  I just made an "ow" face. But inside I was like, "OWWWWWWWWWW!!" That's when the blood oozed out of the wound. My nerves and I are in sync.

He said, "Try to bend it, even if it bleeds." Okay.

P.S. I am kind of typing with 10 fingers today! Horray!

  • handsI had a lot of problems trying to cut the nails on my right hand last Saturday. Sam wasn't home over the weekend so I was thinking, "I should ask my Mom to cut my nails when I see her tomorrow." But I can't stand having long nails so I struggled to cut it and I think I kind of hurt my bad left index finger. I guess when you press down hard enough, all your fingers kind of tense up. Anyway, it's fine now, just bruised down to my wrist.

When I told my Mom on Sunday she said, "You should have asked me to cut them for you." Hehe, how nice. I felt like a little kid again.

I also learned that when she was still in school, she was in charge of cutting her classmates' nails! Yuck. The teacher does a daily inspection everyday to make sure you have clean hands/nails, have a clean handkerchief… I forgot what else. And all those that have long nails will line up and my Mom (being the ace student that she is and also the class president) had to cut their nails! Averaged about 4 kids a day. No surprise, but they were all boys. And they didn't even say "thank you".

  • thermometerThe other day S drove me to get my eyes checked. I made him try on glasses while we waited. He looks so nice in them!

I don't wish him poor eyesight... but when we're older, he'll probably need'em. He'll look so distinguished and handsome w/ grey hair and eye glasses. Let's grow old together!! Hot.

  • pillsYesterday, I accidentally OD'd on vicodine. That was a very unpleasant experience.

So I'm very watchful of when I take them now. I count down to the next pill. At the right dosage, vicodine is my friend.

There are other joints to operate, but I don't know if I want to go through this again. I scare myself from time to time thinking, what if it gets locked and I can never bend my finger ever again?

The husband has been really nice to me. Babying me and checking up on me. Then I wonder... how long can I prolong this? Kehehehe.

  • Hey-o, peoples. I had a surgery on my left index finger Monday morning, a synovectomy, to remove some inflammed joint tissues.

Wah... it hurts. Mommy! It wasn't so bad the first day or so but now it's killing me. For some reason I thought I could do w/o the vicodin, what was I thinking?! Unfortunately, I feel like a heavy fog, just hovering around and... uh, I lost my train of thought... but I feel like a heavy fog.

I was hoping they'd let me watch the procedure, but it'd probably made me sick. I even had to change into a gown? (They need to have smaller gowns that tie well in the back. They're scandalous!) They stuck an IV in my hand, shot me up w/ antibiotics, then "something that will make you more relaxed". It made me so relaxed I fell asleep w/in seconds. I woke up towards the last 5 mintes or so of the surgery and felt them tugging on my hand and sewing it up. I didn't feel any pain, just movements. Surgery took about 45 minutes. I'm so curious what it looks like under the bandage. How did they cut my finger up?

I asked the doctor, "What does it look like?" He said, "It's white, it's kind of like fat." Ew.

I feel like I'm drunk off the meds. I just want to sleep.

    *throbbing throbbing throbbing*

  • Yesterday, S and I were driving around and I read my first Korean word out in the world w/o the help of cheat sheets!

    Sa-u-na = Sauna!

Ahhhh…. I'm so proud of myself!!

That one was easy b/c it used simple consonants and vowels… plus it was really an English word.
But then later that day I read another word in Korean!! I know like less than 5 real Korean words and the one I saw I understood, "love". I practically jumped out of my chair; I could hardly contain myself.

Do you know any easy or essential Korean words?

  •  Sam and Amy's phone conversation:

S: Judy said she wishes you were here right now.
A: Why? So she can talk about her new boyfriend?
    S: Haha, no.
A: Does she have pocky sticks for me?
S: No. We were just hanging out in our room and she said that she wishes you were here.
    A: Aww… how nice.
    S: Do you know why?
    A: Why?
S: So you can iron her clothes!

Haha. What are little siblings for?! Just kidding.

I ended up wearing a dress that was hanging in the closet.
It's a little more formal than how I usually dress to work. But it beats having to iron!
