Do you ever just say lame things that don't make sense? They just slip out of your mouth so fast.
At the movie concession stands:
Cashier: Thanks and enjoy the movie.
Judy: Thanks, you too.
Wrong Number:
Stranger: Hi, is Maria there?
Judy: Oh, you've got the wrong number.
Stranger: Thanks.
Judy: Sorry.
"Sorry"? I guess I was expecting her to say sorry but I ended up saying it instead.

i think that we've been conditioned to reply with "thanks, you too" that we say it anywhere and everywhere. i do it too. these past few weeks when i was at the airports, they would say, "have a nice flight" and i would respond with "thanks, you too." multiple instances too! i think it's pretty funny. but then, i'd catch myself and i would say, "ooh, oops, you're not going anywhere." ha ha ha!
lol....i totally say the first one, too!
this is how it should've went:
cashier: thanks, enjoy the movie.
judy: thanks, i will. enjoy your cashier shift.

Stranger: Hi, is Maria there?
Judy: Oh, you've got the wrong number.
Stranger: Thanks.
Judy: you're welcome.
Haha, sometimes I say the first thing, too. It's just a reflex response, I guess.
